National Rural Health Alliance (NRHA)

The National Rural Health Alliance is the peak body working to improve the health of Australians in rural and remote areas. It is comprised of 24 Member Bodies, representing both health consumers and service providers in non-metropolitan areas. Australian Rural Health Education Network (AHREN)

The Australian Rural Health Education Network (ARHEN) was established in November 2001 to:

  • optimise the outcomes of the University Departments of Rural Health (CRH) Program by encouraging a co-ordinated approach to the activities and the strategic direction of the Program;
  • act as a communication and co-ordination conduit for the participating organisations and also between the Commonwealth and other government and non-government organisations and the participating organisations;
  • provide proactive activities on behalf of the participating organisations based on the agreed business plans and programs of the participating organisations;
  • provide advice to the Commonwealth on the direction of Commonwealth initiatives to create a national network of rural health education and training, in particular with respect to the CRH Program.

Rural Health Education Foundation

Tthe Rural Health Education Foundation provides independent, accredited education services to health professionals working in rural and remote Australia. The RHEF produces and broadcasts interactive distance education programs using satellite technology, the Internet and "enduring" materials (videos, DVDs and CD-ROMs). The RHEF operates a growing network of more than 590 receiving sites, called the Rural Health Satellite Network.

Rural Health Workforce Australia (RHWA)

Rural Health Workforce Australia (RHWA) is a national non-government organisation that supports and represents rural health workforce agencies at the national level. RRWAG draws upon significant experience and demonstrated expertise of those who implement health workforce programs at the regional level to develop national health workforce policy. National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak Aboriginal health body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services throughout Australia. An Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) is a primary health care service initiated and operated by the local Aboriginal community to deliver holistic, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate health care to the community which controls it (through a locally elected Board of Management).
