Travel and safety in rural areas

Abseiling Students often have to travel long distances when they visit rural and remote areas. They are separated from their usual support networks, so occupational health and safety requires careful thought and consideration.

Students who feel endangered in any way, should immediately contact Security using any emergency phone or telephone (03) 6324 3336 or by phoning 3336 if calling from a campus telephone – all hours. If students are not calling from a campus phone, they should contact emergency police assistance by phoning 000.
